The Haunted Apartment on Sandpiper Lane!!!
Okay, just so you know, I did not believe in ghosts and such before I moved into this apartment. I was spiritual, but undead spirits was something you saw on TV like Ghostbusters.
I moved into Apt 20, Sandpiper Lane on November 1, 2004. It was a very spacious 2 bedroom unit with a patio out the front door and a closed in patio out the back door, large bathroom with a sundome and no units built above or below it. Being I didn't have much belongings, I could easily fill it with nice things.
After being there for about 3 weeks, I noticed that when I got out of the shower in the mornings, water was splashing on me AFTER I had turned the shower off and closed the curtain. I opened the curtain and looked at the showerhead and saw that it was still pointing down, so I just wrote it off as being odd. This happened a few more days and I would try and catch it in the act but couldn't, and the water seemed to wet my mirror too. Then it stopped after about a week. I told some friends at work and they said I had a ghost. Sure, and I am the pope.
A week goes by and out of the corner of my eye while sitting on the couch, I see a shadow pass on the wall in the hallway - I walk over and look around, nothing , but I had a tingle feeling on the back of my neck and just had a feeling someone else was there. So I spoke out and said "who's there, show yourself" and of course nothing happened and I felt really silly for doing that.
The next night I had just drifted off to sleep in bed, and something woke me. Not sure I opened one tired eye and saw nothing then looked again and the nightlites (I had 2 in the front room, 1 in the kitchen and bathroom) in the front room seemed brighter. I thought to myself, I am really tired and my eyes are adjusting to the dark. I opened my eyes and the nightlites were really bright, I sat up and stared as the light kept getting brighter and brighter. With my neck tingling, my thoughts raced as to why and wondered if they would pop, if other people can see the bright light outside or how in the hell it was being done. The light began to light up my room and then went out. As my eyes adjusted I saw that the nightlites were back to their regular lumination. I laid in bed for the next hour trying to figure out the purpose of the light - annoyance or warning, and eventually fell alseep.
Another week goes by and I am walking down the hall to the second bedroom when I get the tingling on the back of the neck and I think, what now. Nothing happens and I go to bed as normal. In the morning I get out of bed and head to the bathroom when I notice out of the corner of my eye something sticking out of the door frame. Closer examination revealed it to be the strikeplate (the metal object screwed into the doorframe that keep the door shut) was bent all the way out but the screws were still intact. I got mad and yelled out "we do not break things in this house". A little later I felt silly for saying that, after all there was no one to answer. After telling others at work about my experiences, I find out one of the women in Accounting, Vicki, has a unique gift - she is a spirit guide reader. I have known Vicki for almost 2 years and didn't know she did such things, so when me and Vicki were chatting one day I asked her if she could tell me anything. She told me she sensed I had a ghost, a mad ghost, and it wanted me out. She told me I needed to sit down in a quiet area and address the ghost and tell it to depart that it has no business in my house, that it has passed on. And so I did this, it felt very odd to speak into the air and get no response.
Another week, I just dozed off to sleep with the blanket over my head when I half awake to someone running down the hall. I look out from under the blanket and sense someone next to my bed, and he begins jumping up and down, raging. I once again felt helpless and didn't know what to do for this scared my entire being, he was so mad I could feel it.
Another week passes and I am asleep in my bed. It's around 2am and I remember the dream too - I am walking around a brown barn with some other people and BOOM! I am awoken from my sleep with a punch to the lower back. I jump out of bed, look around and see no one yet my back still stings from the blow. Dazed and also mad from being awoke from my sleep I yell out "we don't hit in this house!". The next morning I am telling people about it at work, and a few suggest mormon bishops bless the house and others just say get out. But I chose neither for two reasons, one I wanted to see the ghost full on and second, it's my damn apartment!
Over the course of the next few weeks I learn that tingle on my neck is ALWAYS an indicator he's there, because that's when I see the shadows and hear the odd sounds I normally don't hear.
A month passes and I am sitting at my computer at night, playing my online game of Unreal Tournament - complete with headphones. As I am playing I feel the tingle and have just begun to ignore it because nothing has really happened, I guess I was getting used to it. So as I am playing I notice something out of the corner of my eye and look and see some kind of misty round shape thing about the size of a basketball passing four feet away from me, it went into the wall. Okay, this freaked me out and I turned off the computer and left the room (even closed the door). It was too close for comfort. So I went in and turned on the TV in the front room, then I began to hear someone talking. I turn off the TV to try and hear and notice it's coming from the hall. I get up to get a listen and two steps from the couch some kind of blast of air hits me in the face (and of course scared the shit out of me) but I needed to get to the hall to hear what was being said. I get there but the voices are still muffled or I can't make them out and it stops. So I said "if you want me to hear, say it". Dead silence, in fact for the next 30 minutes I sat on the couch trying to absorb everything that happened. I mean who can you call to fix this? There is no listing in the yellow pages for ghost removers, you're just at the whim of what happens. I felt almost helpless. No more tingle, so I took some Tylenol PM and went to bed.
A few weeks later, a few tingles here and there, shadows in the hall, I really just begun to try and block it out. Just let me finish my lease and he could have the damn apartment. I am laying in bed almost falling asleep, tingle starts, I roll over and try and block it out. Then I hear a creak and a click. I sat up knowing that those sounds are physical sounds and that he's doing something. I get out of bed and turn the light on and right away notice that the hallway closet door was wide open. I turned on the hallway light, look in and notice nothing out of the ordinary and close the door. Tingle still present. Lights out and I get back in bed, and there it is again, creakkkkk, click. Turned the lights back in, looked and sure enough, hallway closet door open. I looked all inside as if I am supposed to see something, but there is nothing other than 5 shelves. So I close the door and put a hiking boot to keep it shut. Lights out and back into bed, again creakkkk, click. I jumped out of bed turn the lights on and my boot is across the hall and the door is wide open, I yell "knock it off!! I am tired and you are annoying". Close door, more shoes, Tylenol PM, lights out. I awake in the morning, all 3 shoes are across the hall and the door is again wide open. This went on for a few weeks (not everynight) and then stopped.
No more major events happened til I moved after that point, I assume he's still there. As soon as the lease was up I got the hell out of dodge. As for me, I am a firm believer.
